Thalia dedicates her book to her children, husband, mother and fans

“For Sabrina, who fuels me with the urge to seek an even better version of myself every single day.”

“For Matthew, whose presence reminds me that life is filled with miracles and hidden treasures.”

“For Tommy, who has held my hand throughout an extraordinary journey full of passion, and who has shown me the true meaning of the word commitment.”

“For my mother, whose gaze alone transmitted unconditional love, a love that has transcended the grave. You will always be in my heart, in every place and thought we ever shared, forever and ever.”

“My fans and followers, especially if they are young like me in every circumstance of their lives feel as though they are someone wearing clothing that isn’t their size.”

Tonight at the Waldorf-Astoria, Bette Midler hosted Hulaween 2011, her annual gala to benefit the New York Restoration Project.

New York Restoration Project NYRP is a non-profit organization dedicated to reclaiming and restoring New York City parks, community gardens and open space. In partnership with the City of New York, NYRP is also leading MillionTreesNYC – an initiative to plant and care for one million new trees throughout New York City’s five boroughs by 2017.

Last night, Thalia attended Bette Midler’s Hulaween gala benefit for the New York Restoration Project. I was looking forward to seeing her outfit, as I recalled the cupcake costume she wore last year, which I found absolutely adorable. Remember it?

This year however, the outfits were inspired by Mexico’s holiday “Dia de los Muertos” (Day of the Dead). Take a look at some photos and a video that Thalia herself uploaded to her Twitter page and some HQ photos from the event, courtesy of NuestraThalia.com

DailyMail says: Sexy senorita: Mexican singing sensation looked stunning with her right dress and boots. I couldn’t agree more!

EA: How did Thalia came to be famous in Brazil – or, at least, in my home

EA stands for Espiroquetas Alebrestadas, a blog dedicated to Thalia which I always enjoy visiting, especially because of the graphic designs and artwork created by Paula. This time however, I’m going to present you the story of how Thalia came to be famous in Brazil (actually, in Paula’s home) as she told it on her blog. Hope you’ll enjoy it as much as I did!

(By the way, keep an eye on EA, some surprises may be revealed soon…)

It was 1996 or 97 when brazilian children (and adults) became kinda addicted to a series of telenovelas SBT started showing since then. They were called the “Marias Trilogy”, already known in their birth place, Mexico, and at maybe 50 more countries then. (Today, those 3 little naive girls have visited 180+, more than one time.)

I know exactly why, or how, I first glampse Thalía. I studied with this boy I knew was like my first tender love… (even though, I swear, I also knew he was gay by then). So, to sum it up, he came one day at school with Thalia’s album En Extasis.

I guess it was love what made me listen to that the first time (hahahah now, I’m reaaally getting dramatic LOL). But it was not love (at least not the “same kind” of love) witch kept me going.

Interview: Thalia bares her soul, shares her pain

One of the best interviews I’ve read recently. Sweet and sensitive, yet powerful and very moving, parts of it really touched my heart. I can’t wait to read Thalia’s book, to get to know her better and to find out what’s making her grow stronger everyday. Read this to the end, it it worth it.

NEW YORK (AP) – It’s no secret that Thalía has savored the honey of love and success in the same way she has lived through moments of great pain. The Mexican superstar grew up under the spotlight and the press has been in charge to document everything and more about her life.

What the public does not know is what was on the mind of Thalía at age 6, when the death of her father caused her such a shock that she did not make a sound for a year. Or what harbored the feelings of guilt after the kidnapping of her sisters in 2002 and how she handled it. Or how her current husband Tommy Mottola won her heart.

In her new book Cada día más fuerte (on sale this week and available on November 1 in English as Growing Stronger), the singer and actress reveals her most personal struggles while reflecting on what she considers her greatest blessings: Mottola and their children Sabrina and Matthew.

“It’s a very intimate book, where I’m exposed to a thousand, where there is no mask, where there is no angle that remains guarded,” Thalía said Wednesday in an exclusive interview with The Associated Press.

With her long hair down, minimalist makeup without any accessories, the star spoke enthusiastically about this and other chapters of her life, putting in laughter and tears when remembering her mother, Yolanda Miranda, who died just last May a month before the birth of her son. She also explained why she thanks the La Llorona having made a girl able to face the unknown.

“My life has been wonderful,” sums Thalía. “Every moment has made me a stronger person, a gladiator.”

Following are excerpts from the interview.

The Associated Press: What led you to write this book at this point in your life?

Thalía: It’s a moment in which I am very sure of who I am, very accepted, very peaceful, happy with the things I’ve done in my life, both personally and professionally, and I thought it was an important time to share my story, my experiences both good and bad, with everyone… and treat it in some way my experiences can support the lives of others.

AP: You approach very happy subjects, like your successes, your marriage, your children. But you also delve into very painful subjects… How difficult was it for you to make this trip to the past?

Thalía: I was exposed and I was vulnerable … It was very difficult to put my life on paper, was a very intimate, very psychological, but also was liberating. It was like cleaning the closet, like cleaning the house, like throwing at walls, opening new spaces, and it was very refreshing to my life.

Michael Buble feat. Thalia – Mis Deseos/Feliz Navidad Lyrics

I’ve noticed that people have been looking for the lyrics of the song, so here it goes! Feel free to correct any misheard parts you may find (hope there won’t be any). Enjoy!

A donde sea que yo esté
Tu corazón alcanzaré
Y una sonrisa en tu mirada pintaré

No habrá distancia entre los dos
Al viento volaré mi voz
Con mis deseos a tu alma llegaré

Feliz Navidad, Feliz Navidad
Feliz Navidad, próspero año y felicidad

Feliz Navidad, Feliz Navidad
Feliz Navidad, próspero año y felicidad

I wanna wish you a Merry Christmas
    Celebremos juntos la vida
I wanna wish you a Merry Christmas
    Y que viva la alegría
I wanna wish you a Merry Christmas
From the bottom of my heart

I wanna wish you a Merry Christmas
    Celebremos juntos la vida
I want to wish you a Merry Christmas
    Y que viva la alegría
I wanna wish you a Merry Christmas
From the bottom of my heart

Feliz Navidad, Feliz Navidad
Feliz Navidad, próspero año y felicidad

Feliz Navidad, Feliz Navidad
Feliz Navidad, próspero año y felicidad

I wanna wish you a Merry Christmas
    Celebremos juntos la vida
I want to wish you a Merry Christmas
    Y que viva la alegría
I want to wish you a Merry Christmas
From the bottom of my heart

I wanna wish you a Merry Christmas
    Celebremos juntos la vida
I want to wish you a Merry Christmas
   Y que viva la alegría
I want to wish you a Merry Christmas
From the bottom of my heart

I wanna wish you a Merry Christmas
Navidad Navidad Navidad

I wish you all the love and joy
All the love, the love, and joy, my love

Feliz Navidad
I wish you all the joy
    No one ever can destroy
The love I’ve got for you
   In this heart, my life

Felicidad
    All the love and joy
Alegría
I wanna wish you a Merry Christmas
