Thalia at Teleton Mexico 2013 Photo Gallery

Once again, Thalia took part in Mexico’s Teleton, opening the fundraising event from the Hospital Infantil Teleton Oncologico (HITO) in Queretaro.

Her performance was composed of three songs, her children’s song, Chupie: El Binky Que Regreso A Su Hogar and two interesting remixes which took me by surprise, one of Manias and the other one of Te perdiste mi amor, with Prince Royce.

For Chupie, Thalia was joined by a group of kids, “the best dancers in the world” according to her, and I agree! 😀 They all looked great and their dance and presence on stage made the performance so joyful! Also, she wore one of Tommy’s pair of jeans, what’s up with that? LOL Photo Gallery

Thalia also had dancers on stage for the other two songs and participated in the choreography, the show being dynamic and fun to watch! Photo Gallery

Just look at the happiness on her’s face! She totally had a great time! Photo Gallery

Thalia Guest Co-Host on The View

In case you missed Thalia on The View on November 25, here’s the recording, courtesy of

If in my previous post I said that “if Thalia were to become a permanent host on The View, I’d be more than happy with it”, I now take that back 😀 And don’t get me wrong, she did an amazing job as I expected, but after watching that video I came to the conclusion that I’d rather see her hosting her own TV show. Like Latin Times wrote, there were moments when it was difficult for her to talk and it bugged me to see her trying to say something and stopping after a couple of words because the other ladies won’t stop talking and listen to her! Nonetheless, she kept smiling and didn’t seem to be bothered at all and I liked that a lot. Leaving that and the awkward moment with Niecy Nash aside, I enjoyed her participation on the show, her great personality, her energy and positive vibe can’t be denied and so I’d love to see her doing her own thing.

Thalia Guest Co-Hosting ‘The View’ Nov. 25! 3 Reasons Gig Should Be Permanent! (Latin Times)

Soon after Thalia shared the status above on Facebook, an article appeared in my newsfeed and it really got me thinking… Here are some parts of it, which I’d like to comment on:

Thalia was also recently featured on the “Today” show, but only as a guest, not a co-host. We believe that if Thalia hits it off with producers and the panel of ladies, she has a shot of making this gig permanent and here are 3 reasons why:

Well, I gotta admit the possibility of Thalia being a permanent host on The View hadn’t even crossed my mind, I wonder if hitting it off with the producers and the other ladies would actually make her consider it, too.

1. She Is Latina: When “The View” started it was a representation of women from different walks of life and experiences coming together to discuss current events. As the show has matured and hosts have departed, it seems they have not mixed up the panel to create the chemistry the original ladies had. A Latina being added to the mix will definitely spice things up and bring on a different perspective on things. Latina’s have been featured as guest co-hosts before but none have landed a permanent place.

But yeah, if a Latina were to join the hosts panel, Thalia would be the perfect choice!

2. Bubbly Personality: The panel is in dire need of someone that is fun and fresh. Thalia comes off on-screen as a very enjoyable person and always has a huge smile on her face.

You know it! Thalia would put everyone in a really good mood with her energy, her positivity and that delightful smile!

3. Cross Promotion: Thalia is a mega star in Latin countries and in the U.S., Latinos are familiar with her thanks to her telenovelas. Having her join the team will allow cross promotion of the show and maybe attract viewers that wouldn’t normally watch the show. Thalia has been absent from the small screen since her last telenovela aired in 1999 and her appearance would likely cause great expectations. With ABC and Univision joining forces in the news department with Fusion, “The View” can easily become an addition to their programming.

Ever since she left the telenovelas world, everyone’s been expecting to see Thalia back on the small screen, but what if that were to happen in a different way? Thalia’s constantly evolving, she’s always looking for new projects to extend her work, so to me co-hosting such a popular talk show in the US would be the great next thing for her to do. People could actually see and enjoy the real her, and not a character in a novela. How awesome would that be?

In conclusion, if Thalia were to become a permanent host on The View, I’d be more than happy with it, but for now the chances of that to actually happen seem unlikely to me. What do you think?

Audio: Thalia – Cuando nadie me ve

A while ago Thalia revealed on Instagram that she was working on one of Alejandro Sanz’s songs, “Cuando nadie me ve“.

The song is featured on a special tribute album to Sanz, “Y si fueran ellas”, which counts with the participation of 13 renown female singers who give a new life to his songs through their voices.

With the texture of her delicate and attractive vocal register, Thalia draws the secrets that wrap up among the lines of Cuando Nadie Me Ve.

This famous Mexican singer and actress, starting with a melody moved by the classic and sprinkled by electronic sounds, reconstructs the rhythms of this songs, which gives rise to a new conception of this composition, without letting its authentic nature fall into oblivion.

Cuando Nadie Me Ve is a sincere declaration of what you’re going through when you’re searching for your own identity.

When you take the hand of that, sometimes, much needed loneliness, that’s when you are aware that you can really strip on the inside and outside, revealing to yourself what your true existence is.

Thalia, qualified as one of the most powerful voices of Latin pop, makes an interpretation which invites to contemplation.

Thalia – Exclusive Brazil album

Sony Music Brasil have just revealed on their Facebook page the cover of an exclusive Thalia album, which will be released in Brazil in the following couple of weeks.

The disc, titled simply “THALIA”, will be a compilation album comprising her greatest hits, as well as a few songs recorded in Portuguese. According to MDCThalia, those songs are Equivocada, Manias and Estou Apaixonado.

In case the photo used for the cover looks familiar to you but can’t figure out where you’ve seen it before, Mariel has pointed out to me that it belongs to photographer Jesus Cordero and it’s featured in his online portfolio:

What do you think of this news and the album cover? The photo is really beautiful and Thalia’s got a lot of fans in Brazil who totally deserve an album like this!

Update: Here’s the tracklist of the album:

1. Manias
2. Beijame
3. Besame Mucho Feat. Michael Buble
4. Estou Apaixonado Feat. Daniel
5. Equivocada
6. Que Sera De Ti (Como Vai Voce)
7. Ensename A Vivir
8. Mujeres
9. Atmosfera
10. Habitame Siempre
11. Regalito De Dios
12. Ojala
13. Hits Medley: No Me Ensenaste, Tu Y Yo, Entre El Mar Y Una Estrella, Maria La Del Barrio

Well that’s interesting… We have songs (1,2,4 and 5) in Portuguese and the rest seems a mix of Primera Fila, Habitame Siempre and Viva Tour, I wonder if the songs are the original ones or if she recorded them again. I also expected them to be of her all-time greatest hits, so this mix is definitely a surprise. Nonetheless, this album is turning out to be really awesome!
