Hello everyone! 2015 is right around the corner, so it’s time for our annual look back at everything that Thalia’s done in the year that is about to end! I can’t believe this is actually the fifth time I’m doing this kind of posts, and like every year, Thalia’s been an extremely busy person, so we have a lot to talk about. Let’s get started!
When it comes to Thalia’s music, we’ve had so much going on in 2014: Viva Tour videos being released on ThaliaVEVO, followed by the release of her first children’s album + a new studio album at the end of the year.
February and March were dominated by Viva Tour en Vivo, with videos from the DVD being released on Thalia’s VEVO channel every few days. I wrote blog posts about all of them, you can check them out in the following list:
- Ensename a vivir, Con los anos que me quedan, No soy el aire
- Hoy ten miedo de mi
- NY Medley
- Amor a la Mexicana, Hits Medley
March also marked the release of Viva Kids Vol. 1, an unexpected album that made some people wonder where Thalia’s music career was heading, but eventually brought her another no. 1 in Mexico’s Amprofon chart and a Latin Grammy nomination. The first and only single of the album was Vamos a Jugar, with the other videos of the DVD eventually being released on ThaliaVEVO as well. You can read my review of the album in English and Spanish.
But wait, there’s more! The music video for Thalia’s duet with Brazilian singer Daniel came out the same month!
Fast forward to August, when we were given one of the best collaborations in music, as Laura Pausini released her single Sino a Ti featuring Thalia:
September brought a double treat, the spectacular music video for Sino a Ti:
and the release of Por Lo Que Reste De Vida, Thalia’s first single off her new album.
The music video for PLQRDV was released a month later, in October, being without a doubt one of the best videos in Thalia’s career.
A bachata version of the single hit the digital stores the same day:
Thalia’s first performances of the year happened only in November, when she was part of Televisa’s special show dedicated to the greatest telenovelas theme songs with a medley of Quinceanera, Marimar and Maria la del Barrio:
and performed PLQRDV on the talent show Va Por Ti:
Thalia gave another performance of PLQRDV this December during the USA Teleton:
Even though we haven’t had many performances in 2014, we did have a lot of new music to enjoy! Hopefully 2015 will bring a new tour / more moments on stage :D
That’s all we have for this post, let’s continue with Part 2 – Interviews!
