Thalia in 2014 (2) – Interviews

I have a confession to make… I have no idea how Thalia can give so many interviews where most of the times she has to say the same things over and over again and still manage to keep her sanity :D

It’s hard for me to even keep up with all the video interviews she gives during promotions, not to mention newspapers and magazines. Honestly, I don’t know how she does it, she must have some kind of super powers.

That being said, I’m not going to mention every single one of the interviews she gave in 2014, but rather talk about the ones that stood out the most to me.

Back in April, Thalia went to Mexico to promote her first children’s album, Viva Kids Vol. 1. One of the highlights was definitely the interview she had with one of her best friends, Yolanda Andrade, on Mojoe. I posted all about it in a long list of the things they talked about, which you can read here.

In June, Thalia gave a 30 min interview to Showbiz, a show on CNN en Español. She talked about Viva Kids, her children, her experience with bullying, the World Cup, social media and many other topics. She mentioned some of her projects as well, one of the most interesting being a documentary she’s directing about a famous Mexican personality, for which she traveled to Paris earlier this year.

She also did a short Q&A for Billboard as part of the Viva Kids promotion, but took the chance to talk a little bit about Amore Mio – which was still in the works at the time.

September marked the airing of Viva Tour en Vivo on HBO Latino, Thalia being the first female artist to have a show aired on the popular channel. To celebrate and promote the event, Thalia did a Google+ Hangout where she answered questions regarding the experience of the tour and gave more details on Amore Mio.

November was packed with Amore Mio interviews, the one with Isamel Cala gaining the most attention and acclaim from both fans and regular people, who saw Thalia with different eyes. She proved once again that she’s a down-to-earth woman, with an incredible sense of humor and a lovely personality.

Erika from thaliaesmivida.com did an amazing job gathering all the interviews from the Amore Mio promo and you can find them all here.

We started this post with Mojoe, we’re ending it with Mojoe, as they aired a special show dedicated to Thalia in December. One of my favorite things was seeing all the people and friends that she worked with at some point (like Benny Ibarra, Carmen Salinas, Itati Cantoral, Fernando Carillo etc. oh, and Laura Pausini ♥) say sweet things about her and to her. Not to mention the hilarious Q&A with mustaches on and the wonderful meeting with her fans.

Doing all those interviews clearly takes a lot of time and energy, but I think I figured out what Thalia’s special powers are. Positive attitude + love for what she does + love for her fans, having these three and making each experience a fun one is probably what drives Thalia through so many hours of promotion. And we’re all grateful for that, as we get to know more about everything she does, thinks and feels and it’s always a pleasure to watch her.

Alright people, that would be all for this post… coming next: Events!

Thalia in 2014 (1) – Performances and music releases

Hello everyone! 2015 is right around the corner, so it’s time for our annual look back at everything that Thalia’s done in the year that is about to end! I can’t believe this is actually the fifth time I’m doing this kind of posts, and like every year, Thalia’s been an extremely busy person, so we have a lot to talk about. Let’s get started!

When it comes to Thalia’s music, we’ve had so much going on in 2014: Viva Tour videos being released on ThaliaVEVO, followed by the release of her first children’s album + a new studio album at the end of the year.

February and March were dominated by Viva Tour en Vivo, with videos from the DVD being released on Thalia’s VEVO channel every few days. I wrote blog posts about all of them, you can check them out in the following list:

February:

March:

March also marked the release of Viva Kids Vol. 1, an unexpected album that made some people wonder where Thalia’s music career was heading, but eventually brought her another no. 1 in Mexico’s Amprofon chart and a Latin Grammy nomination. The first and only single of the album was Vamos a Jugar, with the other videos of the DVD eventually being released on ThaliaVEVO as well. You can read my review of the album in English and Spanish.

But wait, there’s more! The music video for Thalia’s duet with Brazilian singer Daniel came out the same month!

Fast forward to August, when we were given one of the best collaborations in music, as Laura Pausini released her single Sino a Ti featuring Thalia:

September brought a double treat, the spectacular music video for Sino a Ti:

and the release of Por Lo Que Reste De Vida, Thalia’s first single off her new album.

The music video for PLQRDV was released a month later, in October, being without a doubt one of the best videos in Thalia’s career.

A bachata version of the single hit the digital stores the same day:

Thalia’s first performances of the year happened only in November, when she was part of Televisa’s special show dedicated to the greatest telenovelas theme songs with a medley of Quinceanera, Marimar and Maria la del Barrio:

and performed PLQRDV on the talent show Va Por Ti:

Thalia gave another performance of PLQRDV this December during the USA Teleton:

Even though we haven’t had many performances in 2014, we did have a lot of new music to enjoy! Hopefully 2015 will bring a new tour / more moments on stage :D

That’s all we have for this post, let’s continue with Part 2 – Interviews!

Over the years, Thalia’s been a huge supporter of charities like March of Dimes or Make-A-Wish, she’s attended various fundraising events and has recently been named UNICEF Cyber Ambassador for her role in the “El bullying no es un juego” campaign. And knowing her, I’m sure she’s done many good deeds outside the spotlight as well. The Teleton is another event that’s been of high importance to her and this is the second year she performs at the USA one.

If last year Thalia bravely endured the cold outside as she sang “Tomame o dejame”, this time the stage was placed in a cozy studio in Times Square :P. With her latest single, “Por Lo Que Reste De Vida” and her gorgeous look, she stole once again everyone’s hearts and asked people to get their wallets and donate, starting with her F.A.N.S. :)

Earlier that day, Thalia shared some photos and videos from the rehearsals on social media accounts.

Scan: Thalia a facut din sex un hobby – Libertatea

I don’t usually see articles about Thalia in the newspaper (actually, this is my first one hahaha), so when I do I have to share them with everyone!

You’ve probably heard this by now, Thalia recently said that her favorite hobby is sex (OMG! 😳🙈😜😂) and like many of her previous “shocking” declarations, the news quickly made it to every corner of the world, including Romania haha.

Here’s a scan of the article, found in today’s issue of the Libertatea tabloid, it was also published on their website yesterday night. It doesn’t say anything that you haven’t already heard, so I’m not going to bother to translate it ( unless there’s someone really interested in that :D )

Thalia spreads happiness with Amore Mio, F.A.N.S embrace it

ThaliaAmoreMio1

Last month we received an early Christmas present as Thalia’s 13th studio album – Amore Mio – was released, first in Mexico and then worldwide. It quickly became a success and debuted as no. 1 not only on iTunes, but also on Billboard’s Top Latin Albums and Latin Pop Albums charts, as well as Amprofon. Add a Gold Record certification to all that and you have more than enough proof that Amore Mio is one the best albums of Thalia’s career!

Thalia presents “Amore Mio” as an invitation to be your own first love, to cherish and love yourself, as well as a declaration of love to us, her F.A.N.S. She also says that the album was made in a cheerful atmosphere, of harmony and lots of positivism, aiming to pass on happiness to everyone who listens to it. Moreover, it’s the album on which she felt the most sexual, free and confident, and you can definitely perceive that in each song.

Now that we know what this album means to Thalia, it’s time to take a look at what some of her F.A.N.S have to say about Amore Mio. I’m happy to count with the participation of people from different places in the world, who have kindly taken a moment to share their thoughts on the album and patiently waited for this post :D. You can read reviews by Nastia – Russia,  Matias – Argentina, Eliana – Venezuela, Erika – Romania, Merve – Turkey, Tia – Kuwait, Mariel – Philippines, Penny, Mary – both from Mexico and yours truly, Ana-Maria (with a dash :P) – also from Romania. Thanks so much to all of you, you have no idea how much this means to me!

Hope you enjoy this, let’s get started!
